Deloitte Hackathon Incubation 2018
08 Jun - 09:30 AM
Milan, Italy
U’re the one we’re lookin’ for

Pandas Documentation Sprint in collaboration with PyMI
10 Mar - 10:00 AM
Milan, Italy
If you work with data in Python, you most probably (should) know pandas, a library, started ten years ago as a personal project by Wes McKinney, which is today a cornerstone in the Python stack for data analysis. This is due to its flexibility and performance, its large number of features, and its integration with other libraries of the pydata environment (including some which are based on it, such as dask and xarray).
One aspect under which pandas has not shined so far is the documentation. The API is large, and the effort to produce complete and consistent docstrings has not been entirely successful.
The good news is that this is going to change. The even better news is that you can help.
On March the 10th, a pandas documentation sprint will take place all over the world. More than 300 pythonistats, in more than 20 cities, will work together to improve the docs.
In Milan, we will meet at Mikamai/LinkMe at 10 a.m, in an event organized jointly by Data Science Milan and PyMI. In order to participate, all you need is some minimal experience with git/github, with pandas...and your laptop. Among us will be Pietro Battiston, who has experience contributing to pandas: he will guide us through the process of improving the docs, and will be available for any help/clarification on the topic.
See you there!
